In this defense I will derive an extension of the Boltzmann equation in two different settings, the hard sphere model and the Maxwell molecule model. In both scenarios, a unique Boltzmann-like equation emerges from an underlying system of particles that interact up to an arbitrarily large, but finite, order. This differs from the traditional Boltzmann equation which only assumes binary collisions and thus is only an accurate model for very dilute gases.
