We report about joint work with A. Krause and B. Morin where we give a new construction in prismatic cohomology called the syntomic logarithm. As an application we extend the local volume computation for Tate motives, given for unramified local fields by Bloch and Kato in their original paper on the Tamagawa number conjecture, to all local fields.
