Various convexity notions play important role in many areas of mathematics. The notions of pseudo-convexity, holomorphic, polynomial and rational convexitiy are central in the theory of functions of several complex variables. Their understanding leads to corresponding notions of convexity in symplectic and contact geometries. In my talk I will discuss the interaction between these notions, their development, and open problems.
