  • Bruce P. Palka (palka@math.utexas.edu): Research interests include (a) a study of the implications of geometric measure theory for the theory of quasiconformal mappings and (b) the application of quasiconformal mappings to problems in geometric measure theory, particularly to variational problems (e.g., minimal surfaces) and to questions concerning the symmetry of frctal sets. A second topic of growing interest to him is the relation between the theory of quasiconformal mappings and the theory of invariant differential operators on hyperbolic n-space.
  • Haskell Rosenthal (rosenthl@math.utexas.edu): Research interests include Theory of Banach spaces and functional analysis including Banach space properties of operator spaces and operator algebras, invariant subspaces for certain classes of operators, existencer of certain conditional basic sequences in arbitrary non-reflexive Banach spaces, and complemented subspaces of C[0,1].
  • Lorenzo Sadun (sadun@math.utexas.edu): Research interests include quantum mechanics, nonperiodic tilings, adiabatic limits of wave equations, and other problems of bith physical and geometric interest.
  • Karen K. Uhlenbeck (uhlen@math.utexas.edu): Research interests include Global analysis and differential geometry with a special interest in applications of non-linear analysis in topology; solutions of Yang-Mills and Sine-Gordon equations; the topology of moduli spaces.
  • Jeffrey Vaaler (vaaler@math.utexas.edu): Research interests include Analytic Number Theory with a special emphasis on Diophantine approximations, Diophantine geometry, Beurling-Selberg functions and effective measures of irreducibility.
