David Helm has joined the mathematics department as an
Assistant Professor. David received his Ph. D. From UC
Berkeley in 2003. His research interests includes number
theory and algebraic geometry. Prior to joining the department,
David worked at Harvard University as a Benjamin Pierce Assistant Professor.
Thomas Chen has joined the department as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Chen is on leave this year.
Yingda Cheng has joined the department as an Instructor.
Yingda received his Ph. D. from Brown University in 2007. Dr. Cheng's research
area is numerical analysis.
Helleloid Geir has joined the department as a H. Bing Instructor.
Eric Katz has joined the department as a lecturer.
Eric received his Ph. D. from Stanford University in 2004. Prior to come
to Austin, Dr. Katz worked as an Assistant Research Professor in Duke University.
Dr. Katz's main research area is Algebraic Geometry.
Hun Kwon has joined the department as a lecturer.
Jennifer Mann has joined the department as a Lecturer. Jennifer received her Ph. D.
from FLorida State University, Tallahassee in 2007.
Dr. Mann's research interests includes DNA topology, knot theory, probability theory and
statistics.
Natasa Pavlovic has joined the department as an Assistant Professor.
Natasa received her Ph. D. from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002. Before
coming to UT, Dr. Pavlovic has been an Assistant Professor in Princeton University.
Dr. Pavlovic's main research area includes Partial Differential Analysis and Harmonic Analysis.
Pamela Powell has joined the department as an Clincal Assistant Professor.
James Rath has joined the department as a Lecturer. James received his
Ph. D. from University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Dr. Rath's research area is Numerical Analysis.
Kim Sanghyun has joined the department as a H. Bing Instructor.
Kim received his Ph. D. from Yale University in 2007. Dr. Sanghyun's research
interest includes Geometric and Combinatorial Group Theory, Low-dimensional Topology and
Combinatorics.
Arlo Schurle has joined the department as a Lecturer.
Henry Segerman has joined the department as a Lecturer. Henry received his
Ph. D. from Stanford in 2007. His main research area is on 3-Dimensional Geometry and Topology.
Mihai Sirbu has joined the department as an Assistant Professor.
Elizabeth Stepp has joined the department as a Lecturer.
Nicolay Tanushev has joined the department as a Lecturer. Nicolay received his
Ph. D. from UCLA in 2007. Dr. Tanushev's research area is Partial Differential Equations.
